Best Facility Mods - State of Decay 2 Guide

Manage Facility Mods

There are a ton of different Facility Mods in State of Decay 2 that you can choose from for your base, if you'd like to see a complete list of every Facility Mod in the game then follow the link provided. On this page you'll find a list of the best Facility Mods rather than a list of every one in the game.

My qualification for "best' Facility Mod is mostly subjective and my opinion; I picked both the Facility Mods that I used the most often when playing and also the Facility Mods that I saw other people using when they were playing the game. Below you will find a brief list which I took from my State of Decay 2 Walkthrough page. This is a very short list that goes over the best Facility Mods in the game to keep an eye out for. It's meant to be a companion list for you to easily check while playing if you forget.

All Around Best Facility Mods

- Ammo Presses (Specifically Rifle Ammo is the most valuable)
- Shelving Units (Increase storage of all resources by 2)
- Signal Antenna & Network Signal Booster (Increase available Outposts)
- Compost Bin (Bag of Fertilizer, Garden Toolkit aren't bad either if you are growing Food)
- Advanced Biochem Station (Allows you to create the most OP items in the game like ScentBlock)

Since there are over 100 different Facility Mods in SoD 2, as you could imagine there are many honorable mentions that did not make it onto the list above. Below I have put together an entire list of Facility Mods in State of Decay 2 that are worth holding onto. If they are not listed below then I typically don't loot them or sell them to an Enclave when I get a chance.

SoD 2 List of Facility Mods

Universal Mods

Fireworks Crafting Station: This mod lets you craft ammo/consumables from the Independance Pack DLC. Some of the weapons from the Independance Pack are extremely OP so it's a pretty good Mod if you plan to use them.

Red Talon Crafting Station: This mod lets you craft items from the Daybreak DLC. As far as I know you can not find this item while scavenging, it can only be purchased once you've unlocked it in the Daybreak DLC.

Command Center Mods

Network Signal Booster: Without a doubt one of the most useful Facility Mods in the entire game. Grants you +2 Outpost Slots.

Signal Antenna: Weaker version of the Network Signal Booster. Grants you +1 Outpost Slot.

Fighting Gym Mods

All-in-One Workout System: You can only use this mod in a Gym. It grants you +5 Max Health and Max Stamina for everyone in your Community.

Set of Free Weights: You can only use this mod in a Gym. It grants you +10 Max Health for everyone in your Community.

Gardening Mods

Compost Bin: Best Gardening Mod - Increases yields by 100%

Jug of Pesticide: Increases Med yields by 50% when growing Medicine at a Facility.

Soil Enrichment Kit: +10 Max Health for everyone in your Community.

Kitchen Mods

Espresso Machine: Allows you to make Espresso at your Base. Really only useful in the Bounty that has you craft Coffee.

Slow Cooker: Allows you to perform the Facility action "Make Stew" which gives +10 Morale to everyone in your Community.

Lounge Mods

Game Console: Allows you to perform the Facility action "Game Turney" which gives +15 Morale to everyone in your Community.

Collection of Reference Books: Increases Experience earned by 33% to everyone in your Community.

Minibar: Allows you to perform the Facility action "Mix Drinks" which gives +25 Morale to everyone in your Community.

Note: Collection of Board Games is another Facility Mod that gives +15 Morale like the Game Console; however it does not last for as long as the Game Console so it doesn't make the list.

Medical Mods

Advanced Biochem Station: Allows you to create some of the most overpowered items in the entire game like ScentBlock.

Sleeping Facility Mods

White Noise Machine: One of the most annoying Facility Mods in the game, it gives +10 Morale to your Community but makes an annoying noise in your base.

Workshop Mods

CNC Mill: Allows you to make Parts at the Workshop using Materials. You get a better return on this than the "Scrap Materials for Parts" at your Storage.

Filling Machine: Increases how many Molotovs and Fuel Bombs you get when crafting. Molotovs are one of the best items to use on Plague Hearts which makes this Facility Mod more valuable.

Handgun Ammo Press: Allows you to craft .22 cal, 9mm and .45cal rounds at the Workshop.

Heavy-Duty Ammo Press: Allows you to craft .50cal Rounds and 40mm Rounds.

Magnum Ammo Press: Allows you to craft .357 Magnum Rounds and .44 Magnum Rounds.

Rifle Ammo Press: Allows you to craft 5.56mm Rounds and 7.62mm Rounds.

Shotgun Ammo Press: Allows you to craft 12g Shotgun Rounds.

Soldering Station: Allows you to make Boomboxes at the Workshop.
